Yesterday we welcomed the Music Generation Music on Wheels band to our school. There was a guitarist, a drummer, a flute player (Aishling, our tin whistle tutor), a singer and a keyboard player. The band performed some songs for us, but better still, our fifth and sixth class pupils played a few tunes on their tin whistles, with Faolán doing a solo performance, while others played their fiddles, Dara on the button accordion, Ryan on keyboard and Eoghan on the uilleann pipes. Willow played the electric guitar and the fifth class joined in with a pop song as Gaeilge. The rest of the school danced, clapped and sang. A sincere word of thanks to Aishling and Music Generation for organising such a great day!
