Northern Sound Recording

This year we have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Martin Donohoe and Karen Mc Mahon through the BLAST project. Today it came to an end with a music and song celebration event recorded by Fintan for Northern Sound Radio. The children from third, fifth and sixth class performed the Rattlin Bog and Maggie in the Woods on the Tin Whistle. The third and fourth class children performed 'Do you love an apple' in song and 'I'll tell me ma' with the fifth and sixth class pupils joining in for the chorus. Aishling, our tin whistle teacher from Music Generation, was interviewed along with Mrs. Prior. Eoghan Mc Govern, all-Ireland champion, played the Uilinn Pipes and spoke to Martin Donohoe and Mia Keaney played the Kerry Polka on her fiddle. A great day was had by all. A video of the event will follow shortly and keep an eye on the website for the details on when the recording will be aired on Northern Sound in the weeks to come. A sincere word of thanks to Martin Donohoe, Karen Mc Mahon and Dwayne Kiernan who visited our classrooms over the past few weeks, Fintan Mc Manus on sound, Aishling from Music Generation, our staff and of course our wonderful pupils who put on a great performance for the radio today.
