We have started learning letters

We are using the Jolly Phonics programme to learn the letter sounds in Junior Infants. Although we mention the names of the letters, we focus mainly on the SOUNDS this year. The reason for this is that it is much easier for children to learn to read if they just use the sounds and not the names of the letters.

Please practise the sounds which we have done at school each evening at home in the little purple Sights and Sounds book. The ones we have done are listed on the homework sheet.
